Our kitchen sink during one particularly guest-heavy weekend. Someone has GOT to start washing dishes around here! Okay, half of those mugs are mine...

My buddy Kenny just got married. He wants to start an orchard so I sent him some bare root fruit trees. The box contains peaches, a cherry tree, pawpaws and a few grapes. I wish Kenny the best with his new orchard and marriage.

Our neighbor dropped off some fresh eggs last week. This is the photo I sent her to let her know how delicous they are. Have a great day!

We finally got our haybarn built. Here's how the rafters off the front porch looked before the tin went on.

This is one of the posts that hold up the porch on our hay barn. It's made of locust. I used a chainsaw to cut the mortises that hold the upright supports. I love this post because it reminds me of a saguaro cactus, something that doesn't grow in western North Carolina, where we live. The day after this photo was taken, we put the tin on the roof.

I needed some posts for the new hay barn so, instead of using pressure treated timbers, I hauled from locust posts out of our forests. They worked great and gave the barn a groovy, old timey feel that was worth all the extra work.
