Instead of using steel shoes on my mules, I use Renegade hoof boots. Here's the bottom of my mule Cracker's hoof. One of the beauties of using hoof boots is that I can take them off at the end of the day. Cracker likes that. Nobody likes wearing their shoes to bed.
