Salt
Summer in western Nebraska. The mules are sweating and I’m sweating and we’re all craving salt. If I drank coffee in the morning I’d pour it in to that but I don’t so I douse my lentils and rice with the white stuff.
I try to buy Brick and Cracker a salt block at a farm supply store once per week. Salt is cheap. A 50-lb block costs about 6 bucks. If I can’t find a feed store, I buy a one-pound tube of salt at a grocery or convenience store then just hand feed them that.
