My hammock pitched in the backyard of one of the folks who put my mules Brick and Cracker and me up on a recent mule ramble. The green covering is a poncho. I threw it over the hammock to keep it waterproof after it developed a leak on the trail. (Ivanhoe, Virginia)
A very happy me, Cracker and Brick the day we arrived at Elk Garden, Virginia. From there, we headed up the Virginia Highlands Trail toward Ivanhoe, 70-something miles away.
