Photo of the Day – Mule Polly Before and After She Started Eating Equine Senior Feed

My mule Polly, who pulled my wagon from Canada to Mexico and across Newfoundland, is now 33 years old. A few years ago, she started loosing weight because her lower molars were getting too worn to be of much use. We augmented her feedings with equine senior, an easily digestible feed, and look at her now. Kick it, Polly! Swan Song premiers on PBS NC July 3.

Photo of the Day – Wagon Kerosene Lantern

It was the end of the day. I'd just fitted the new wagon cover to the covered wagon and crawled inside with a beer and lit my kerosene lantern for the first time. The moon was coming up over the cabin but it also felt like it was coming from inside the wagon. Beautiful.
