My wife Julia met me in Hyannis, Idaho, while I was riding my mules Brick and Cracker from North Carolina to Idaho. We attended a ranch rodeo where groups of riders competed against each other in events like roping and loading a cow into a trailer. Some, like wild cow milking, I suspect, were thrown in for pure hell entertainment reasons.
My wife Julia and I went to a ranch rodeo in Hyannis. One of the events is roping and these are the roping steers waiting their turn to get lassoed. The padding on their heads is supposed to reduce rope burn as the lassos come up tight against their necks. (Hyannis, Nebraska)
