Watch The Lost Sea Expedition at the EQUUS Film Fest

If you’re a fan of films, books and art about horses, mustangs, mules, donkeys, join my wife Julia and me this weekend at the EQUUS Film Fest.

Crossing a Trestle Bridge With Mule Polly – From The Lost Sea Expedition

Julia is giving a talk about her work with the Trust Technique, and I’m screening The Lost Sea Expedition, the documentary about my wagon voyage across America.

About The Lost Sea Expedition

The Lost Sea Expedition is the documentary about my 13-month wagon voyage from Canada to Mexico with my mule Polly. I filmed the entire voyage out of my mule wagon and cut that footage into the Lost Sea Documentary, which premiered on Rocky Mountain PBS as a four-part series.

I’m excited about the upcoming screening at the EQUUS Film Fest because I’ll be showing the new 90-minute movie-length version of The Lost Sea Expedition. I always intended to present it this way because it allows the viewer to become more deeply immersed in the story. Although it was initially released as a four-part series to fit the Public TV model, this movie-length version offers a more immersive experience.

Join us for a filmmakers’ panel and discussion to meet the individuals behind the great movies being screened. If you ever wondered what it’s like to spend 13 months filming a movie out a mule wagon, here’s your chance to ask your questions. We can talk about anything from moving rattlesnakes with a buggy whip (not recommended) to charging movie cameras with a solar panel (works great).

Two Mules to Triumph is about my 2,300-mile voyage through America with my mules Brick and Cracker.

Rinker Buck, author of The Oregon Trail, calls the book, “A beautiful, emotive book that sings with the uniqueness of America. The book is great!”
